Juicy Benefits

We all love a nice fresh glass of juice on a delightful day. However, drinking a juice has more benefits than meet the eye, including holding a greater concentration of nutrients per ounce, increasing your consumption of fruits and vegetables, and actually enhancing the absorption of nutrients. Its a great way to get in those veggies that you have a hard time eating because of their taste.


On the other hand, with juicing you’re missing out on important fibre. You could also be missing out on other important compounds present in the pulp and membranes of your fruit and veg.

ok so with blending, you’re getting everything the fruit and vegetables have to offer, ensuring the fibre keep that digestive tract moving. However, in both cases, there is a caveat to all of the benefits: SUGAR. Hence why shop bought juices should be approached with an air of caution particularly if weight loss is your goal.


My rationale for drinking juices as opposed to smoothies is that, as a precursor to water fasting I find it a great way to detox and give the digestive system a break. The electrifying qualities of fruit hold the super powers to boost the immune system, increase energy levels and clarity, helps prevent and fight cancer, lowers bad cholesterol levels, eliminate mucus and toxins. Helps the body to achieved the proper PH balance and it also kickstarts the promotion of healthy eating habits.


The best part of juicing is creating your own mixes to suit your taste buds remember though try not to make them too sweet, as a rule of thumb its better not to have more that two types of fruit in a juice. my personal ratio is 2:4. So go ahead have fun and get mixing those health busting rainbow cocktails.
